How do I install and activate an eSIM on an iPhone?
Scanning the QR code on the iPhone automatically starts the installation process. Click continue. (If scanning is difficult or impossible, use the manual entry code.)
Once the eSIM is verified, click done.
Give the newly added eSIM a name and click continue. For example: 'Travel', 'Secondary', 'Cellular Data'.
In the Default Line options, select 'Primary' to continue receiving messages and calls on your existing number. Then click Continue.
To continue using iMessage and FaceTime with your existing number, select 'Primary'. Then click continue.
In the Cellular Data options, select eSIM. To avoid additional roaming charges, turn off 'Allow Cellular Data Switching'. Then click continue. (If you are not traveling, leave it as the default.)
